This is a newly designed module to introduce and equip students to consider career choices in many leading roles in the industry.  It will have a three hour session for each of its 14 teaching weeks, from October 2nd 2023 to January 22nd 2024.  Each week's session is aimed to decribe and examine a leading role within Production Managment for Film and TV.   Roles which will be considered include Line Producer, 1st Assistant Directror, Script Supervisor, Production Manager, Locations Manager and so on.   Students will be tasked with practical and theoretical exercises when appropriate for these roles.   Experienced and current practitioners will be regularly invited in to share their knowledge with you during semester 1.

There is an expectation that students on this module will step into some of these leading Production Management roles during FILM WEEK 13/11/23 to 17/1123.  (There is an additional opportunity for Production Management students to experience another leading production management role, during the subsequent three weeks, on the student film units shooting the winning scripts in our Short Script Competition as part of the DFP 521 DRAMA CRAFT module.)

An introduction to industry software such as MOVIE MAGIC, as well as approaches to film scheduling and project budgeting - 'Above The Line' and 'Below The Lione' costings - will also be included in later teaching weeks.
