This module aims to pursue excellence in contemporary dance performance through regular attendance and practice in a variety of dance technique classes. Through intensive practice the module aims to train you to become a highly accomplished dancer with strong potential to work as a professional in the field
Daily technique training to develop interpretive and presentational skills in preparation for performance. Motional complexity, qualitative interpretation, musicality, alignment, flexibility, core strength and stamina will be priorities in developing technical skills to a professional standard. Alongside this, classes will emphasis experiential learning, developing sensory awareness, physical efficiency, anatomical knowledge and skeletal imagery through taught material, improvisation and partner work. The variety of techniques taught are designed to challenge students’ movement memory and problem-solving skills as well as develop an athletic and highly tuned body.
