Conservatoire
Module Code: CHAD205
Academic year: 17
Semester: S2
Occurrence: A

Aims

The Charity Project is intended to develop an exploration of performance and/or creative artefact through practical work and to integrate this exploration with a practice based understanding of how creative artefacts can support the work of an identified charity.  The module allows students who have developed an interest in a particular charity to develop this in a more focused way, and to find elements of the project which can work to highlight relevant issues connected to the charity’s work and/or engage a philanthropic audience with the charity. A professional approach to rehearsal will be encouraged and students will undertake a parallel development of their auditions and relevant professional skills under the direction of specialist tutors. This practice based approach to learning facilitates an opportunity to apply and develop the theory of fundraising communication and donor engagement, in a rich environment that presents opportunities for critical analysis.
